Professional Flight Training in Tucson / Oro Valley, Arizona
Modern Aircraft, Modern Training: Unlike many schools that fly outdated aircraft, I offer a brand-new airplane equipped with modern avionics you'd find in a multi-million dollar jet. This ensures your training directly prepares you for the technology found in professional aviation aircraft.
Affordable, High-Quality Instruction: By taking advantage of the light sport aircraft category featuring unparalleled fuel efficiency, I can provide the same exceptional training at a price less than or equal to older, less capable planes.
Personalized, One-on-One Experience: Forget the "pilot mill" approach. You don't need a major Pilot School to earn your professional certifications. I offer a more intimate and focused learning environment, ensuring you get dedicated, individualized attention at an affordable price.
Addressing Tucson's Needs: My independent instruction fills a vital gap, especially for those seeking quality flight training on the north side of Tucson, where options are currently limited.
I'm Nick, an FAA-certified flight instructor (CFI, CFII, MEI) passionate about helping you realize the dream of flight. There's nothing more satisfying than seeing the pure joy and awe on a student's face as they discover how intuitive flying can be. My own journey took off in 2015, ultimately earning my professional ratings in 2024—a thrilling pivot from my career in Mechanical Engineering.
Outside the cockpit, I'm a hands-on problem-solver. My engineering background fuels a love for building, fixing, and understanding how things work. When I'm not immersed in aviation, you'll find me drawn to the mountains and water, whether I'm exploring the backcountry in my RZR or enjoying a (usually unsuccessful!) fishing trip.
I still vividly remember my first solo: one moment I was on a routine training flight, the next my instructor hopped out and told me to go. That surge of adrenaline and independence is something I can't wait to share with you. Whether your aspiration is to become a professional airline pilot or simply to enjoy the weekend view from above, I'm here to guide you in becoming a confident and safe pilot.
Train in the 2025 Pipistrel Alpha Trainer Pro, a state-of-the-art aircraft built for today's aviator.
Cutting-Edge Garmin Avionics: Fly with the latest G3X Touch, IFR Navigator, and Autopilot, preparing you for modern cockpits.
Ultra-Efficient: Sips fuel at ~4 gallons/hour, saving you money on training.
Comprehensive Training: Perfect for all levels, including Instrument Rating!
Enhanced Safety: Equipped with a ballistic parachute rescue system for peace of mind.
The aircraft is based at the scenic La Cholla Airpark (57AZ) in Oro Valley, Arizona, just north of Tucson.
La Cholla is a private airpark that serves as our beautiful home base for departures and arrivals. While I am required to operate the airplane from La Cholla, our training operations will happen at nearby airports and designated practice areas to ensure a focused and comprehensive learning environment.
